In this episode of Quick HVAC Tips for Vertical Farming, we discuss the importance of hot gas reheat.

Episode Transcription:

Hi everybody, Jeff Baylis here. Today I want to talk to you about hot gas reheat and why it's important to you.

In your grow room, you're going to have water evaporating off the plants, or transpiring, which is going to increase relative humidity in your space as well as naturally cool the room.

Your air handler to remove that moisture is now going to have to reduce the air temperature well below dew point, and then you're going to have to raise that temperature back up to an appropriate supply air temperature.

There's three ways of doing this, you can use electric, or you can use gas, which are both expensive, or you can use hot gas, which is from your refrigeration circuit, which you've already paid for as part of dehumidification.

Don't pay for gas or electric when the work's already been done.

Thanks a lot for listening, look forward to the future videos!
